165, 240, 360, 500. two weeks of reading spec sheets and every panel is shouting a bigger number than the one before it. i understand that more is more. what i want to find is the point where my eyes stop cashing the cheque, because past that line i'd rather put the money into panel quality instead. the two that keep landing in front of me are the [UltraGear OLED 27GX790A-B by LG](/monitors/lg/ultragear-oled-27gx790a-b) at 480hz for 937 and the [Dell Alienware AW2725DF by Alienware](/monitors/alienware/dell-alienware-aw2725df) at 360hz for about 607, both 27in 1440p oled, and that gap in money is basically the whole question. the demo units in the shops near me are all running some slideshow, which tells you exactly nothing about motion. if you went from 144 up to 240 or beyond, was it a real jolt, or a thing you noticed for a week and then never thought about again.
