What to Look For in a Gaming Monitor
Resolution vs Refresh Rate
The eternal trade-off: do you want more pixels or more frames? For competitive gaming, prioritize refresh rate (144Hz minimum, 240Hz+ ideal). For single-player and visual fidelity, resolution matters more (4K for large screens, 1440p for 27-inch).
Panel Technology
OLED is the new gold standard for gaming, offering perfect blacks, instant response times, and excellent HDR. If OLED is out of budget, fast IPS panels offer great color and response times, while VA provides better contrast for atmospheric games.
Adaptive Sync
G-Sync and FreeSync eliminate screen tearing and stuttering. Most modern monitors support both, so compatibility is rarely an issue. Just make sure your chosen monitor supports your GPU's sync technology.
